I say this because I have used a trackball (a Kensington Orbit at the moment) on my Macs for 11 years and love them. I especially like that I can "chord" with them. I have mine set to SAVE when I click both at the same time and I have the right button set to invoke a contextual menu. While I can use the clicker/trackpad just fine I don't really like keeping my thumb tucked under my hand to click.
