You've obviously lost power somehow. It might even be a dead power supply
inside the dock. Did you hear any ticking (known as the tick of death).

You don't need to remove the lid.

There is an emergency release port on the left side as you face the dock. A
small square hole, below the lid, in the middle of that side. You can insert
the dock key and if you no longer have that (who does) use a small screw
driver. Put it in to the hole and press firmly. The dock should manually
release the Duo so you can gently slide it out.
