Its the only standardized cellular protocol used throughout the world. USA uses 1900MHz and the rest of the world uses combinations of 900 & 1800. Ericsson has a few dual-band phones (900 and 1900), Motorola has some tri-bands (900,1800,1900), but both are no good to a 2400. Nokia, as I mentioned works, but only has one dual-band, and I believe its the 8890, which SHOULD also work fine with the 2400.
