Well, it's gone. Sold it to the head of our ISP who put a wireless
network card in it.
I definitely will miss it and I'm watching and waiting for a new
subnotebook to come from Apple. I had to have a machine with a 60Hz+ bus
speed for work, so it was either an iBook or the new TiBook.
As for the TiBook, true, it's not cuddly, but it's sooo thin and
relatively light for it's size and boy, when you put in a DVD movie in
widescreen, it's awesome!
And, we just got back from a 2 week trip to japan - and traveled in
coach! and the TiBook performed great. The battery lasted for over 4
hours of work on the plane and even in United's squashed back of the
plane coach seats there was room enough to use it. We also went on a
bunch of train and subway trips so lugging it around - all 5 pounds -
wasn't that big a deal. With the 2400, we had the floppy adaptor and an
extra battery, so I think the weight was about the same. The TiBook is
bigger, but thinner, so it fits in the same Kensington Backpack and
there are fewer accessories to keep track of. If Apple would only make a
13.1" version of it!
bye,
beth
