Hi. I was wondering if someone could help me identifying a component on a
Duo230 motherboard.

A couple of months ago I was playing around with my Duo. I had a dock, but not
an independent power supply (I have two now). So I tried if I could not get the
Duo running on 12V DC. (I know... )
Somewhere along the line, I managed to switch polarity. (I know... )
Off course, it wouldn't work anymore.

When I opened up the machine, I noticed a spot of brown discolourisation
(scorch mark) on the bottom EM shielding. When I scratched the motherboard
component that had been there, it desintegrated, like charcoal.

So, my plan : desolder the component and replace it by a new one. But since I
destroyed it, I can't read the marks on it. Actually, I don't even know what
kind of component it is. It's black, rectangular, and has three leads. I think
it's some kind of transistor ?

It is located at the bottom side of the motherboard, just above where the
battery contacts come. It is marked DZ7, and it's between the components R127
and C166, about an inch above the left battery contact screw.

Anyone ?
