Hi Makmac-
I just thought I'd share my 280/2300 experiences with you. Last summer I
sold my trust 280c and bought a good used 2300. I mostly wanted a PPC Duo
to run some newer software.
As you know, the 2300 came with the trackpad. It didn't take me long to
realize that I like the laptop, but HATE the trackpad. Then I found that I
must not be the only one... there is actually a RETROFIT TRACKBALL kit
available for the 2300 to go back to a trackball!
One of these days I fully intend to do that, regardless of the cost. I
(and others I know) find the trackball of the 280 easier to use, and much
more accurate. Before you make the switch, go use a trackpad for a few
days. It will probably change your mind!
