Curious about noise in the 20 GB Travelstar in my 2400, I went to
IBM's site 'cuz I thought I remembered reading there was info there
that listed bad drive lot numbers / part numbers and mebbe (remember
it's not polite to laugh <:o)).. recalls? Didn't find it. But found &
downloaded a few wav files of 'bad hard drive noises'. As I listened
to those wav files I thought at least "mine" didn't sound like those.
Well, it's a few days later now & am pretty sure I'm hearing
"Bad+Head+2.wav" syndrome in the HD. Just glad I got it all backed up
yesterday.
The above a roundabout way of asking anyone who knows of such info on
IBM's site to please point me to the URL. Thanks much.
