Actually, it will depend on the drive. Some Ultra SCSI 3 drives,
especially those with 50 pins may not be limited by the 7500's bus. It
depends on the model of the drive.
That being said, my 7200 RPM 18 gig drive IS slowed by the internal bus
(on my 8500, same as the 7500) to about 2/3 of its potential speed.
And I have a 10K RPM 18 gig drive that is almost 3 times faster than the
internal bus so I put it on an Adaptec LVD controller.
You need to read your disk manual and make a cost/performance trade-off.
