I have considered rebuilding them myself. I have gutted remains of Type 2 and
3 batteries, waiting for the batteries. Also I have one dead but intact Type
3 battery.
Tell me, what is the amp/hour rating of the new battery? IIRC some newer 4/5A
battery holds more than the original parts used in battery. About how long
does your 280c runs on the rebuilt packs with hard drive off, processor
cycling on, and display on?
I get about 3 hours max on original working Type 3 battery. If your $80
rebuilding job gets similar or better results, I might be interested. Would
there be any discount (say $10) for every dead battery we send to you so you
won't have to hunt down dead batteries yourself?
