Dear knowledgeables;
I've a 280c running 7.5.5. Some months ago I asked for help getting
my external Global Village 56k modem working while docked and a helpful
lister suggested I upgrade to FreePPP 2.6.2 which I did. And it worked - I
had my 56k modem. Last week I took the modem on the road, used the 14k
internal modem for email and when I came home I redocked the 280c, shifted
the phone cord to the 56k modem and changed the modem setting in FreePPP.
Now, everytime I try to use the dock/56k I get the message that
"Serial port was not initialed". I can still use the Internal modem to send
this message but despite numerous restarts, reinsertions of the 280c into
the dock, juggling the 56k modem connection, I can't reach my faster modem.
Help!
