I opened the PB 230, it wasn't easy but I found instructions in this website:
 JB's Duo FAQ http://home.att.net/~JBDUOFAQ/duo.html
Believe me it WAS NOT easy, the hardest part was to remove the clutch/hinge outer
covers, but since I've opened up so many macs I wasn't going to let this pass me by.
I swap the HD, it's working with my PB 520 HD now. When I booted the HD in the 520
with a Disk tool floppy, I found a few control panels that may have caused the
password protection. I found Now Utilities, though I don't know if this has password
protection software. And a control panel called CPU stand for connectix powebook
utilities, also one called Startup Manager which doesn't open. The only one with
obvious password
security is CPU. Yes I just verified that that was what was causing the trouble. I
just password protected the computer, only now I know the password. No key could
bypass it, the only thing able to bypass it is a Disk Tools floppy, not even an
external HD worked.

Thank goodness I did not brake any parts on the 230 other than two little tabs on the
case in the HD area but other two are doing the job. The hinge covers looked a little
deformed but with the screwdriver I was able to fix them up a little after closing the
machine.

Thanks for all the help, I did mostly everything, and didn't have to reformat the
disk, :) it has some cool games like chess, macski, shufflepuck cafe, and monopoly :-)
