Hello all, Thanks for the welcome and willingness to help! The problem I'm having with my Duo 2300c seems to be one that has been discussed before here so I've been following links from various posts to see if I could find some answers on my own first. So far...I'm still not sure what's wrong. Basically what happened is that the Duo stopped working unless it was in the Duo Dock (Plus). Ejected and running on battery it would play the startup sound, light the screen, but then immediately shut itself off. I have one Type-2 battery and two Type-3 batteries for it, but none of them will power it out of the Dock for more than a few seconds now. It also will not run while directly plugged into a power adapter. Besides swapping the three batteries in the Duo to charge them in the Dock, I've also charged them separately in both the standard Apple charger and in another one which does a deep discharge first. And in addition to the standard Apple power adapter I also have a mini adapter made by Battery Technology, but that won't make it work out of the Dock either. In the Dock the Duo works perfectly. No software or hardware problems, all external connections work just fine. But no matter what I try, including the standard PRAM zapping and Power Manager resetting, nothing seems to have any effect on the problem at all. So right now I have a perfectly wonderful desktop computer. But I sure would like to be able to eject it and use it out of the Dock again someday. And and all suggestions very welcome.
