Hello,
Yes , it is just a dead battery. You could try to recondition the battery but it is
probably dead, gone, kaput, fin.
If you have been lurking long enough, you have seen that the batteries can be rebuilt
if you are so inclined. I haven't tried yet, but I plan to soon.
