Thanks guys, I just didn't know about 8.6 having having the energy saver extension incorporated into it. Basically, I recently installed a new OS into my just recently purchased 2400. I wanted 8.6 OS, but only had 8.5 on CD and an 8.6 updater on my desktop mac. So what I did was SCSI Disk the 2400 to my desktop and installed the 8.5 CD that way. The problem though is that I realized I had "install OS recommended for this machine." Of course it recognized my desktop and not my powerbook. Well after a whole day of installing other software onto the 2400, I realized the error. I installed manually the missing software (I think I got most of it). But I'm concerned that I may have missed something. This energy saver extension was one of those things... I'm debating whether to do a fresh install, but the Powerbook has yet to crash and I haven't had any problems. Maybe I'll just wait... What do you guys think? Foresee any problems? Anyways, I love the 2400. I don't particularly like the small return and delete keys nor the cramped ports in the back. But I still love this PB. Thanks for the info guys... Michael From: Michael J. Can you recommend a good 56K pc card/modem/ethernet? And what would be a good price? Also, is it possible for me to have an small optical mouse with my Powerbook 2400c without having to make it cardbus enabled and buy a usb mouse. I guess what I'm asking is are there any adb small optical mice being sold that I could use with my 2400? Thanks guys. Mike ---------- From: Michael J. Does anyone have the same OS that they could just email me the "energy saver extension?" It would save me a few hours of reinstalling the OS since I only have the 8.5 CD with the 8.6 updater. I can't seem to install this individually, and I don't want to work so hard for just a small extenstion. Too long of a story to tell what happened... Also, do any 2400 owners have an extra floppy drive cable that they are willing to sell? I'd pay $10 for it. My only requirements are that it works and is in good condition. Do any of the 2400 owners have an Interware G3 card or a translucent keyboard? Can you provide any input on these products? Heat issues, availability, cost? Thanks...
