I disagree wholeheartedly. Potentially you have something else that has conflicted with the different version of OT. I have been using OT 2.6.3 with my 2400 since AirPort 1.2 software was released. Please try to remember that Open Transport is NOT only depended on which version of the "Open Transport" extensions you have. The following extensions are also closely tied in with specific versions of OT and contain part of the code for OT: Shared Library Manager Shared Library Manager PPC Serial (Built-in) SerialShimLib IrDALib IrLanScannerPPC If you are going to change the versions of some of these and not all of the others, YES, you will have problems as the extensions are expecting different information in their counterparts. While the fix for your situation might have been downgrading Open Transport, I'm sure a large part of this is specific to your system and configuration (OTHER possible extension conflicts, incomplete OT, corrupted files, etc.) I'm sure many other users on this list (specifically those using Apple's AirPort software) are happily using more advanced version of OT on 8.6 beyond OT 2.0.3 Jay on 4/18/01 9:07 AM, Jerry Krinock at [EMAIL PROTECTED] wrote: > I have confirmed that, running OS 8.6 on a Powerbook 2400, you should use > Open Transport 2.0.3 and not 2.5.1. > > Using Open Transport 2.5.1, if I ever fail to perfectly connect to a server, > or a web site, I do not get a StopAlert box saying that the server or domain > could not be found.
