I'm working on a similar problem (using my recently acquired 280c's
modem in and out of the dock)
Using Zterm, I find it has an Express Modem, but pop the hood and it
reads Global Village/Powerport.
So I've tried two SW pkgs; A)Powerport for Duo, or B) the Express SW
from Apple, both for the GV Mercury I think,
Both allow you to turn the modem on and off. I found Express (ext and
cntl without the fax stuff) works best for controlling the ports, and
I can use an external modem or print via serial ports (in the dock as
well)
My internal modem is screwed however as it will only connect with
Zterm and not with ConfigPPP/TCP/IP
If anybody has a functional string, I'll try it?
Roger,
