I have just unsuccessfully rebuilt a Type III battery for a Duo 2300, and
thought perhaps someone here might have an idea on how to fix it.

I started with a Type III battery that would not hold a charge, barely
getting through the boot process before running out of juice. Battery
recondition correctly identified it, but said that the time since last
recondition was unknown, even though I had just reconditioned it.

I disassembled to battery, replaced the cells with 2150 mAh Sanyo cells,
tested all of the individual connections for continuity, and put the cell
in the Duo for testing.

Battery recondition recognized the cell, with the same info as before.
Battery monitor on the control strip showed that it was charging, but that
it had a full charge (?). I left it to charge overnight, and in the morning
it showed that it had stopped charging, so I tried unplugging the power
cord. Instant shutdown. I removed the battery and checked the voltage 0.0V!

I am now beginning to wonder what the problem is. I can think of two
possibilities:

1. The control circuitry for the battery is bad, and was bad
2. Some connection came loose as I closed the case

Does anyone have an idea of how to track this down, or other possibilities,
other than to take it apart and check the connections again?

Thanks for any advice.
