I have successfully upgraded the hard drive on a PowerBook 2400, and now I'm thinking of doing the same for another 2400. The thing is that the only large drive I have handy is a 9.5mm slim IBM drive. I seem to recall reading that these 9.5mm drives are too thin to reach the heat sink on the case and thus aren't recommended. Is there any workaround, or should I search for a 12.5mm drive instead? Does anyone have any recommendations for hard drive models to seek out or avoid? I've only used IBM and Toshiba drives so far. By the way, Kim Brennan's detailed instructions on opening up a 2400 were lifesavers when I undertook my first hard drive upgrade. Actually Kim's detailed instructions were for upgrading the CPU, but once you get down to the bottom level of the 2400, it's pretty obvious what you need to do to swap out the drive. http://hometown.aol.com/~kim/computer/duo/2400index.html Thanks, Allie -- [EMAIL PROTECTED] -- ---------- Duo/2400 List, The friendliest place on the Net!
