* OK, I'm feeling good today; last weekend's 18" snow is gone!
Bantering aside, some of you are being so appreciative/complimentary that I
have to reciprocate. So, anyone who wants a (pretty) nifty screen (desktop)
picture--taken right from my balcony--deep blue, panoramic lake, mountain
and sky view shot at sunset on the Autumn Equinox [Pilatus 9.22.00�sho/62k
jpg], email me offlist. (Excuse me for being a little immodest here, but the
Duolist is and has been the most congenial of several digests I subscribe
to--so I'd like to offer Duolisters my own "Easter Egg"--speaking of which
the Swiss released a chocolate stamp today for all you chocoholics). The pic
is particularly studied for prominent icon displays (PC/Mac) down the sides
and along the bottom for those who maximize screen real estate utility and
LCD screens. Just tilt your LCD screen downwards and the sunset will really
transform with the "onset of night".
I may eventually post it (if and whenever I get a website up) as part of a
series which shows very dramatic lighting changes, storms, shafts of light,
cloud structures etc. J.M.W. Turner, the great English landscape artist, got
his signature stylistic inspiration by living in and painting this area, the
Lake of Lucerne. And Mark twain wrote a delightful little treatise on this
area. I retain copyright and ask those requesting it that the photo not be
posted, redistributed or otherwise copied to anyone else. Please treat it
(postcardware) as you would licensed software (not to be stuffy--this is
very personal). I'll batch mail the file from time to time to requesters.
