Okay, before I tear all my hair out...

I installed an Express modem on my wife's 2300 yesterday and
installed version 3.1 of the Telecom package. The Express control
panel says that the modem is on. However, when I try to connect, the
computer keeps trying to use the serial port. I installed a "Modem"
control panel, which briefly gave me the option to set an internal
modem, then suddenly stopped.

The 2300 is running System 7.5.5 with FreePPP. Any settings that I'm missing?

Brian
