I just bought my first Apple //gs at a second-hand store (excellent deal,
Woz Limited Ed, two of both 3.5 and 5.25 drives, monitor, keyboard, and
Imagewriter II for $12.12) and installed GS-OS 6.0.1. It's interesting how
many things it has that both Windows and the MacOS only added recently. Most
notably, proportional scrollbars, live scrolling, a "Windows" menu with all
the open Finder windows, a shortcut key for almost everything (including
empty trash). Truly a great system, too bad it never went anywhere. SynthLab
is amazing too considering it's an Apple II :)
