>This size is close, but what I really want is smaller than a 2400! Fair enough - this is the major (and maybe the only) point here. For me the 2400's size (and the Duo before it) has always been a nice bonus, but I could just as easily make do with something bigger (though not much heavier). You're clearly looking for something more like the VAIO or even the WinCE devices, but running something like the Mac OS (I say "something like" because desktop GUIs aren't really designed for that size and shape - WinCE is an example of the sickness that results when you try and squish them to fit). You may find something like this from Apple in the future as an eMate successor, but I wouldn't count on it anytime soon. If you really need that now, you should probably be looking Sony-ward. The main point here is that it sounds like you're not even really all that happy with the size and shape of the 2400, you're merely putting up with it (but in the other direction than most people do). >This will fit into most people need for a notebook, but there are >still people that want smaller and more features. Take the the iBook >2001, make the optical drive external, give it a big (30 or 48gig) >hard drive, a type II PCMCIA card slot, the ability to have a gig of >RAM, make it out of Titanium and shave a quarter inch off of all the >dimentions, and I'd drop $6,000 right now for one. You would, and maybe 10,000 other people would (at the very most). That's nothing like enough to justify designing and marketing such a beast. Apple is enough of a boutique already without any more Cube debacles - you're just looking for something here that wouldn't be at all useful to the VAST majority of people. Given that, there was really never any possibility that you'd be happy with a computer that sells for $1300 US new. ;) -- Marc Sira | [EMAIL PROTECTED] "If you can't play with words, what good are they?" ---------- Duo/2400 List, The friendliest place on the Net!
