Since then I can't get the 2400 to boot up. All I get is a lit screen, I can hear the hard drive start up. I can only shut it off by removing the battery (at least the GLOD still works and I can reset it to turn the light off.) There's no little Mac icon, no boot-up chime, no clicking of the drive other than the original few seconds.
Have I fried my SCSI port to the point where it wont recognize my hard drive? Have I fried my motherboard? Is my G3 upgrade still salvageable in case I have to part this sucker out?
I don't have it now, but tomorrow I intend to try my Disk Tools floppy that came with the 2400 to see what it does. I would try my CD-Drive and system installer CD, but I doubt that it'll boot as it's a non-Apple drive. One other option is the PC card external hard drive case I got with my original hard drive, but then it didn't work the last time I tried it. I assumed it was a OS 9.1 problem at the time.
The hard drive has two partitions with two systems. Any body know the key combination to force the 2400 to boot to the second system in case the primary one is corrupted?
Any comment, advice or suggestions on how to get this thing running again will be appreciated.
TIA
John
