Personally, I like the new iBook, but do not think of
it as a subnotebook. Now days sub means around 4lbs
not 5lbs. With that said, I would love to have one of
those iBooks. I made the switch from my trusty 2400 to
a 500MHz TiBook and never looked back. My only real
complaint about the TiBook is the lack of CR-RW. I use
CD as I used floppies in the past. It's only 451 times
bigger and all computers now days have optical drives.
I would even go so far as to say the TiBook is the
same total weight as my 2400. Sure the 2400 is 4.4lbs,
but after you add the power supply, extra battery, and
all of the PC cards needed, the weight breaks even.
Plus, I only got one real hour of use out of the 2400.
Even though Apple claimed 4. With the TiBook get over
4.5 hours of real use with out the battery warning
coming on.
