BTW on iB2 I was impressed--I was just following the thread title. Judging
from recent posts, for me, Peter L, and the other compact/lightweight
fanatics--it's ALMOST more important to us when underway than Mac OS ;-) I
concede that Apple can't make a living just from us. I keep thinking about
it --but never really used that Libretto 100 gathering dust all these years.

What's important for the SUBnotebook concept is that the extra paraphernalia
(i.e. 2400 extra battery & accessories) can be split out, even if the
aggregate weight is heavier. This vital option to be SLIMMEST (SMALL
FOOTPRINT) in basic mode allows me to pack extras into check-in luggage.
Realistically I'm usually plugged in on DC power. All-in-one solutions, no
matter how light/compact, are less appealing to me than a real SUBnotebook.
If I have to make a CD sized (or even DVD sized) presentation, that can be
packed onto my 30 gb HD or the coming IBM 48 gb HD. I don't need the
built-in DVD/CD, and the way I travel, the G4-Ti's thin metal walls will
soon be distorted from a beating. Ideally iB2v.2 will shed the DVD and be
released in a slimmer, lighter case. I'd still prefer a smaller footprint
but iB2 is close enough, and such a solution is readily within Apple's grasp
at low tooling cost. WS->Lombard->Pismo were made this way.

My upgraded 2400s still rock! One of the most charming (elite/cool) aspects
of the 2400 is that few people have seen them outside of Japan and the
USA--it is the follow-on killer design to the 520/540c--and PC folks are
similarly impressed that something this "old" still looks and performs so
well. (I was testing new modem scripts in the tech room of my Swiss ISP and
all of the techs (PEECEE guys) were really fascinated by 3 x 2400s online
with different modems/scripts). It's a little fun to tweak'em. (the
computers and the PC guys)! ;-) I guess I'm "bored" because I've pretty much
tinkered with them to the limits of available possibilities... but I have
some new things in mind (steps 11 (3 x 3-colored translucent keyboards) and
12 (48 gb HD) <G>!while waiting for Revision n.2 G4-Ti and iB2.
