I agree with Marc, although there could be damage to any component, 
not just the SCSI controller chip.  We've seen this on many cases 
where desktop systems were damaged the same way from PC users who 
thought they didn't need to RTFM.

It's highly unlikely that you can salvage the board, but I'd be happy 
to look at it for eval if you want.
