Hi all,

Okay I have just confirmed that it definitely does not work to use the
finder from the installation disk! I tried it and my computer would freeze
on startup just before all the desktop icons would normally appear. So I
put the DFA copy back in.

The way I replaced the Finder was just by dragging it from the DFA or the
2400 installation disk and dropping it in the system folder on my HD. I
think someone said something before about doing a custom install and
choosing to just replace the Finder, but I tried going through the
installation on the CD and that didn't seem to be an option.

Still...my desktop looks funny and i wonder if it's a problem that my
modem icon disappeared? My HD icon and the look of all the files inside
have definitely changed too. Thankfully, things generally seem to work.

Corina
