The PC card cage can fail to eject. I came across this excellent link (with
photos) in my web travels:

Repair jammed PC card slot

Disassembling Powerbook by yourself may cause serious damage on it, and
nobody care of it. You must do in your own risk

Symptoms:
PC card slots of PB 2400 are very delicate. It uses a motor and couples of

For cardbus enabling, one of the differences is that a relevant yellow wire
to the card cage is cut and removed. Looking at MB top/bottom photos alone
will not be sufficient to guide anyone in this exercise. Despite having
plenty of info at my disposal, Kevin at MCE has done two of mine just fine.
If you elect not to use MCE, you do so at your own risk but let the list
know how you make out. I'll give you a head start by giving you this link:

<http://www.wwc.edu/~frohro/Cardbus/Cardbus.html>

Its contents will give you all of the info and other links you need to
research the subject.
