The drive will work just fine in a Duo 2300. You may need a IDE cable
if your 2300 has a SCSI drive. If it a original 2300 (not an upgraded
2xx Duo) it probably has the cable to connect it's IDE drive. Same
goes if the drive is larger than 700 mges. You can always use system
profiler to check how your current drive is connected (IDE or SCSI)
However, the 20gb drive is not compatable with the original hard
drive mounting brackets. The screw holes are in different locations.
I've gotten around this by using doubble stick tape (the kind that
has foam in the middle) and this has held the drive just fine.
But look out. SCSI disk mode will not work with that large of a
drive. More precicley, it will work, but your drive will get corupted
and data will be lost. Not a big deal if you don't use SCSI disk mode
on your Duo.
>Might be a stupid question but I'm new to the higher end Duos - will this
>fit into (& connect to) a 2300 or do I need to do something funky with it?
>TIA.
