Thanks Allison,
Am grateful for any & all input. Not using FW, just the PC Card 
DataShuttle. The Toshiba kinda whirrs but never mounts. My hope is 
it's just a 2400 issue, as I really got the Toshiba for the new 
iBook. Am trying to format it before getting it installed, and maybe 
that's just not possible...
