And now that 2400 still serves as the best data intersection for bridging old and new, PC and Mac. There are 2 solutions, apart from returning the drive. Find another PC card slot PB to do the job, maybe even at a dealer (if you're still baking in the desert), or, if you have a way to get iB2 into Firewire target disk mode, pull the other drive and install the Toshiba and then perform the format.
