Well, my iBook is in transit to me as I type this. The decision to replace
my beloved 2400 was tough. I have sunk some dollars into this one and it's
not even half as sooped up as the machines owned by other list members.

My 2400 or "The Millennium Falcon" as I've come to know her, is a beauty. I
maxed out the ram at 80 mg, replaced the rainbow apples with silver painted
apple logos [inside and out] dropped a translucent blue Yu Co. keyboard on
her and slapped a cool looking sticker across the bottom with the word
"THINK" with flames shooting off it. The sticker shows when I carry her.
Like I said, I love this little machine. It's not like I just at the latest
and greatest think from Apple. I don't like the TiBooks and I still use my
Newton. So what made me choose the iBook? Well...

A 5 hour battery? [sure in real world use it's less, but still more than my
2400 which gets 1.5 hours]
DVD? Yup, now I can watch movies when I travel. Besides, It'll be nice to
have an internal media drive anyway.
USB? Sure you can get an upgrade for the 2400, but I HATE dongles. That goes
for my modem/ethernet card too.
The clicker. No matter what die hard users say, I still argue the clicker is
the worst design flaw of the 2400. Give me the giant trackpad and clicker on
the iBook.
SPEED - The iBook will smoke any 2400 G3 upgrade. Period.

The other major reason I bought an iBook is I'm planning on replacing my
desktop machine with it and I wanted something a little more up to date.
Don't get me wrong, my 2400 is the last mac I'm planning on parting with
once I get my iBook.

Until then I need to find her a good home. I'm considering ebay or this
list. I'm selling it with a global village 56k/ethernet combo card. Floppy
drive, Panasonic SCSI 8X CD-ROM, leather carrying case, original keyboard,
external apple mouse & speakers, cables, 2 wall adapters and one car
adapter. Asking $650. [That's what I paid for it before I spent nearly $200
on ram and $160 on the keyboard.]

To all my fellow 2400 duolisters I thank you for your insight, help and keen
wit. I will probably still lurk in digest mode even after my 2400 is gone,
but for now, I'm going to check out the grass on the other side.
