Hello, Listers-

I have two problems with my 2300.

1- recently, an odd stripe has appeared on the laptop's display... about 3/4
inch wide, running vertically down the center of the screen. The screen is
a bit lighter than the rest of the screen, and the resolution is not as good
in the stripe. Does this mean that the display is going bad?

2- This is more complex... here goes. I have full Duo Docks both at home
and at work. In both places I boot from the dock hard drive. At work I'm
on an ethernet network. At home, it's localtalk. Again, I boot from each
respective DOCK HD, and I have the AppleTalk control panel set for the
respective network situation.

Here's the problem: those settings are NEVER saved. After a day of working
on the Ethernet setting, I take the Duo home, boot off that dock's HD (where
the control panel had been set for Printer Port)... and it goes looking for
ethernet. I change it, then work at home and synchronize files. Then I
take it to work in the morning, boot off THAT dock's internal HD (where the
control panel has been set for Ethernet), and I still have to change the
AppleTalk control panel from Printer Port to Ethernet.

Does anyone know what I'm doing wrong? I'd appreciate any help from someone
who's been through anything like this.

-Dave
