There's a whole slew of things you can try. To be absolutely sure: 1. Go into your HD, to System Folder, to Preferences 2. Trash TCP/IP Prefs, Modem prefs, and Remote Access Connections (Assuming you're using OT/PPP. Make sure you write down these settings first too) 3. Empty trash, reboot, empty again if need be. 4. Go to Apple-Control Panels-TCP/IP and reconfig this 5. Go to Apple-Control panels-Modem and reselect the modem/port 6. Go back to Apple-Control panels-Remote Access (PPP on 8.1) and reconfig this, and try it again. Since this is happening over two OSs, it makes me wonder if it's really a problem with the OS. I suppose it's possible they both got corrupted at the same time. Hard to say. Hope this helps!
