The limitation is on the logic board, not in the dock. Now, do you REALLY
want to screw up another Duo 2300 logic?? <<grin>> I've had success with
charging the batteries externally (piece of steel, magnet and a piece of
Lexan to hold a set of spring contacts to make connection to the
battery.....but not what most folks have sitting around!), but I'd be
hesitant to try to stuff more energy thru the Duo itself.
One old trick (TRY AT YOUR OWN RISK...DO NOT HAVE THE HOSPITAL CALL ME
AFTERWARDS!!) is to apply a higher voltage across the individual cell at
OPPOSITE POLARITY (i.e., basically a short circuit). Don't try this across
the terminals, there is a thermal protector and a fuse (in some) in the
circuit, you could pop them. I have tried this across the individual cells
in a Type III, went from approx.5 min. to 30-40 min. life. I prefer to swap
the cells for new ones, tho!
Cheers!
Andrew (back in town)
