The scsi ID number is probably okay but try changing it to 4 and see what
happens. (You gotta experiment!) The jumper settings, however, are done
on the hard drive itself; they are not on the case. This is a tricky
business and requires knowing what the manufacturer of the drive itself
had in mind.
The question comes to mind, though, as to whether this drive of yours is
simply defective. Do you have evidence of it having worked okay before,
and mounted properly on any desktop?
