>Have computer prices gone >down? Or was the 2400 more upscale when it came out than the iBook is now? Corina: I recall paying $2,000 for a backlit MacPortable at an Apple Firesale right after they were discontinued (it had once been nearly $7,000) I remember paying nearly $2,000. 00 for a refurbished Duo 270c from the User Group Store near the time they were discontinued. I also remember paying $1,600.00 for a Duo 2300c when MacConnection was having a closeout sale. In each instance I thought I got a really good deal. I remember thinking the 2400's introductory price of around $3,600.00 was pretty cheap compared to the price of other Powerbooks at their introduction. However, I did not purchase a 2400 until they were discontinued and the price dropped to $1,200.00. Now I still think that was a good deal. Yes, computer prices, especially Powerbooks, have gone way down. Stan Bratton ---------- Duo/2400 List, The friendliest place on the Net! A listserv for users and fans of Mac subportables.
