Well, I downloaded the version 3.0.6 of GlobalFax from VersionTracker. That did the trick, and I downloaded the 1.0.7 updater for the PC Card enablers in case I get stupid and install OS 9. (That or someone sends me a G3 upgrade gratis). It works. That's what anyone ought to need. >> Seeing as it is difficult to download >> them all from the site on my TiBook and then transfer them via floppy (as >> there is none) I was hoping that someone could point me in the right >> direction. > > Why do you need to put them on a floppy? Well, the 2400c had no modem or ethernet (seeing as that is why I am downloading drivers), so I had to download the files on my G4 and transfer them to the 2400. Localtalk (serial) and Floppy were my only options. (Unless someone knows how to make the Powerbook G4 and the 2400c see each other using IR.) As for Brandy's question, yes, an older version came with the card. I just wanted the newest version. Partly because it is newer with bug fixes, and partly because the older version wasn't seeming to like OS 8.6. The other reason it didn't work was that I was using the wrong plug in the back of the card. I have my 2400 plugged into a NewerTech Bookendz and the Platinum pro has two connectors for the dongle. It turns out that one is for Cellular phones and one is for POTS and Ethernet. Of course, the one for ethernet requires some creative contorting of the dongle, b/c the Bookendz gets in the way of the connector. > Which "beaut" do you need. email me off list and if I have it I'll email > a file or disk image.
