Well, the most stylin' is probably the keyboard that goes with the Twentieth Anniversary Mac (TAM). It's actually quite similar to the Duo keyboards (or the later Powerbook G3 series), but with function keys, escape in the right place, and a much better feel. Plus the leather palm rests. As a bonus it has a removable inbuilt trackpad, and a spare ADB daisy chain connector that can be on either side. I'm not sure if it can be ordered as a service part, but you might find one available if someone's parting out a dead TAM (http://tam.axon.net). However, if you liked old IBM keyboards you may still find it too soft (it's definitely better than the Apple Design, but not as nice as the Apple Extended - basically it's a souped-up Powerbook keyboard in a nicely designed shroud). The NeXT keyboard will work for the most part, but you may not get any soft power, and some of the keys may not do anything. Same with the black mouse - I don't know of a way to use the second button from the Mac OS (though I believe you could from LinuxPPC, where it's more useful anwyay). I've had good luck spraypainting the shell of a PC keyboard black, so you could do up an Apple Extended. The keys would be tricky, though. Trivia note: I'm fairly sure one of the keyboards used in The Matrix (in the good guy's little computer den) is from a TAM, with some props stuck on it. -- Marc Sira | [EMAIL PROTECTED] "If you can't play with words, what good are they?" ---------- Duo/2400 List, The friendliest place on the Net!
