Now that I've made the transition* to a new iBook, I need some advice on long-term storage for my PB2400. For instance: main battery in or out? I want to keep in handy as a backup system. *I steadfastly used my Comet as my main system all these years -- passing on the Wallstreet, Lombard, Pismo, and TiBook. But I was getting to the end of my rope, and the new iBook is probably the closest to an Apple subnotebook we'll see for sometime. After a week with the new machine -- and speaking as a longtime Comet user -- the new iBook is close enough to the portability of a 2400. Then add a built-in optical drive, and a screen is so brilliant I have to tone it way down. It even pumps too much juice into my external Apple FPD. I started seeing stars before I turned the screens down. This is major because since I bought my first Mac in 1985, I've always had to max out screen brightness.
