Hi, I just subscribed to this list and I own a Powerbook 2400c/180 running on Mac OS 8.6 with external floppy and SCSI-based Zip and CD-ROM drives. My problem is that said Powerbook can't read PC-formatter disks, whether floppy or Zip although it has no problem reading Mac-formatted Zips and floppies. I've tried just about everything to fix this glitch. Disk First Aid, Norton Disk Doctor and Speed Disk, Virex, Techtool for zapping the PRAM and rebuilding the desktop, trashing the Finder, File Exchange and System Prefs (as adviced by Gonz and Butch) and even reintalling the system software--all in vain. I don't believe this is a hardware problem so I'd truly appreciate it if anyone here can help me with this problem. This is the only Powerbook I have so I'm wondering if this is a common problem with this particular machine.
