I currently have a 540C Powerbook and I am acquiring a DUO 280C. My 540C has OS 8.1 and the DUO will arrive with 7.x (I have 7.6.1 and 8.1 which I can load) When I loaded 8.1 on my 540C I noticed it took a bite out of my 500 meg HD. Now the DUO is coming with even less HD space. Programs I know I want to run are Nisus, AppleWorks 5.0, MacPublisher PRO and a few others. Someone on the list mentioned they had pared down 8.1 to around 20 meg (I have 36 mb RAM for the DUO so RAM isn't as big a deal) Being fairly new to Mac (but learning quickly) my question is a suggestion as to what to keep and what to toss to pare down the OS ? ---------- Duo/2400 List, The friendliest place on the Net!
