Looking for suggestions on how to shutdown the computer after a given
period of keyboard/mouse inactivity, or at a specific time... while
managing to sheperd the process through typical dialog boxes (e.g.
save work in open documents), etc.

The energy saver CP initiated shutdown always seems to be deceived by
some kind of background activity for the timeout shutdown (which is
why I'm interested in keyboard inactivity), and both it and the
scheduled shutdown always seem to get hung up in dialogs regarding
save work, etc.

I want to do this because my wife refuses to turn off the computer,
and will leave it on for days at a time without using it. Please
don't recommend counseling.

Looks like a job for applescript, but I want to make sure its worth
the trouble to learn, or that there is not a better option out there.
I may just put a timer on the 110 to the dock.
