Is there any particular reason to shut it off??  My computers just go to
screen saver or sleep the screen after some time, but otherwise, they're
generally on 24/7.  I try to remember to reboot once a week, just to keep
from accumulating crap in memory.  (If that thing in Energy Saver really
worked to schedule a shutdown and to schedule a restart...)

With the monitor asleep, computers just don't draw a whole lot of power, so,
unless there's a security problem (like kids using it when you're not
there), there's no real reason to shut down.
