Two tips for the neophyte case-crackers:
Mark your reference photos with sequence numbers (if necessary) and
each removed part with a sequence letter or whatever. At work, put a
long strip of masking tape on your work surface, sticky side up, and
place each screw on it as you remove it. With a ballpoint, write each
part's reference on the tape; lines between photos. No problem in
deciding which screw came from which hole in the hinge base during
reassembly. (Some are long; others short.)

Secondly, be careful about torque on reassembly. The 2400 is notorious
for screws working loose but I had the opposite problem: the next time
I went in, I could not unscrew one that I'd over-tightened.

Despite the hassles, my machine is a better one for my forays inside it
(disk, CPU, memory, clicker). Enjoy!
