Yup, no doubt about it.. some of the posts, as of late, have been on the ' sour ' side.....Sounds like some future Microsoft tech support in TRAINING, or Larry Ellison's personal golf caddie.. ok, ok, slap me bare whatever... C'mon, this is a cool little list. Face it, most of us are still using 'OUT OF PRODUCTION' MACS...Powerbooks, Duos, etc...WE don't exist in the eyes of both JOBS, APPLE, and many hardware-software vendors...WE ARE NOT CURRENT...HECK, Apple has pretty much phased out a lot of tech support, parts to many of our beloved macs...Leaving us to pick the carcasses of D.O.A. macs, third party vendors, Yard sales, thrift shops, Ebay, and so on... Face it, I love using my DUO...it still DOES EVERYTHING I need it to do..from word processing, writing articles for any number of fanzines, magazines, whatever.. It surfs the net fine...sure, on the ' slow ' side...but it STILL GETS the job done...and people whether they are MACINTOSH users, or WINTEL..still are amazed that my 1993 DUO, is still doing what I need to do, day in and day out, and get their HEADS turned... in an nutshell, that was a problem with Apple, they built most of their computers to run 3,4,5,6,even 10 years after production ceased....Where WINTEL users usually bought a new machine every 2,3,4, years..CRIPES, try running windows 95,98,2000, NT, ME on a 486, 586, 386, whatever... Nope, those laptops and desktop WINTEL PC'S usually make fine boat anchors and door stops...where even my lowly Classic II, still surfs the net...if I want it to do so... as well as writing my latest rant....heh,heh,heh... Now wait until I hack a power PC board into my olde ' LISA ' now that'll be a monster HOOT ! Sure, I have a bad case of the new I-book envy....and I would LOVE to get me paws on a sweet 2400, or Be BOX....but as long as my ' older ' macs do my THANG...I'm a happy camper..and I suspect the majority of this list, FEELS the @#$%ing same way oops, gotta go.....Elvis is at the door Nick C.
