Rehire it?  Sorry I couldn't resist.  I think you meant fried.

You could try to use the soldering iron and remove the old capacitor.  if it's
surface mounted (I don't have the G3 upgrade so I don't know what kind) then
you may need to order a replacement through electronic shops like
www.mouser.com or Allied Electronics (sorry don't have URL handy)  I'd also
recommend using higher rating cap to avoid future repairs.  (ie use 35v caps
instead of 15v)
