Hi, I'm helping out a friend with a 2400. He wants to use a 6 gig ATA drive pulled from a G3 which we put into and Apricorn external case. It runs off power from the PCMCIA card connection. The external drive works just fine with my G3 PB of course. The 2400 recognizes the drive and I can copy small documents to the drive. We want to move some small apps and things to the drive but anything like copying a folder or a larger single file freezes in the copy process and just sits there. We have to do a forced reboot to get out of it. Some (few) details I have: Cursor still moves but no actions can be taken, have to reboot 2400 was just upgraded to OS 9.0.4 Memory is 48 megs It's a 180 MHz It has an IBM 1.4 gig drive internal We don't want the hassle of pulling the machine apart to put in a bigger drive if we can avoid it. Any help appreciated! Thanks, Jenn ---------- Duo/2400 List, The friendliest place on the Net! A listserv for users and fans of Mac subportables.
