Tom,
The palm Mac Desktop 2.6x (?) that ships with the Visor is for PowerPC
macs. Your Visor may work with the original Mac Palm Desktop 1.01 (or
something like that) which may still be available for download on the
Palm site. I have used a Palm III for years with PalmBuddy as my only
desktop software for the the palm, which should work fine with your
visor and Duo 230. I recently installed the 2.6x desktop on my Duo2300
becauseI needed the calander/datebook functions it provides on the
desktop and on the palm. I have it set to just sync the datebook
functions and still use Palmbuddy for everything else.
BTW, You can avoid all of this desktop stuff by just using your Visor
with a backup module.:-). For tons of information enter "Palm
Macintosh" or "Palm Mac" (without the quotes) into the search field at
http://www.google.com/ and see what turns up.
