I'm not that familiar with Photoshop but it sounds
like 2.5.1 is not PowerPC-native, or your installation
lacks the PowerPC code. The MacOS 68K on PowerPC
emulates a 68LC040 which lacked an FPU and the PowerPC
FPU cannot natively run the code. Way back when this
was an issue there was a shareware extension called (I
think) SoftFPU
which trapped the 68K FPU calls, emulated them, and
thus allowed 68K-only software that required an FPU to
run on PowerPCs.
So you need a non-FPU version of Photoshop, if there
is such a thing-- there was for Kai's Power Tools,
IIRC; which will be horribly slow. Or a copy of
SoftFPU-- don't know if it is still available, or if
you can still register it to get it to work; which
will be slow but not as slow. Or a PowerPC-native
version of Photoshop,, if you have it available. Or a
270c. ;-)
